You can be assured that music teachers in this association are qualified instructors of music. A music teacher must have earned a degree in music from an accredited institution, or must have qualifications or experience equivalent to a music degree in order to join the MTAC. Performing and Reading Music

Nothing teaches the rewards of discipline and perseverance as much as learning to perform and read music. Not only is reading music a great learning tool, its ultimate reward is the expression of one's self through the performance of music.
